From the first moment we met a year ago we knew this was going to be one amazing wedding. Josie and Bruce knew exactly what they wanted from their wedding day and were prepared to put in the hard work to make it fantastic……and they certainly pulled it off.

They were to be married in the most amazing of venues, Sledmere House in Driffield East Yorkshire. The ceremony was to be held in the main Sledmere House then over the road to the barn for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. We were shown pictures of the barn before Josie and Bruce had put their mark on the place and to say they had their work cut out would be an understatement but in line with there vision and excitement they turned the place into something unforgettable.

We first met with Josie in her bridal preps. Always unsure how nervous a bride may be, we were met with a very calm and excited Josie. Herself and her bridesmaids getting their final hair and makeup touches done while we shot away capturing some natural moments.

We had news that the boys had arrived so we shot over to get some great groomsman pics.Again all the groomsmen were in great spirits and it was great to meet them all. The wind was blowing a little heavy at this point but the skies were clearing. Today was going to be a good day!

Before we knew it, it was almost time for the ceremony. Guests were arriving and all systems were go. Bruce had the usual slight apprehensive look upon his face as he stood at the front of the ceremony room but as soon as he saw his wife to be, you could see him relax instantly.

The ceremony went without a hitch, apart from the “awful husband” incident!! but this only fuelled what was to be a great light hearted day. Leaving the ceremony room as husband and wife, in true Sledmere House tradition the confetti fell over them as they walked hand in hand down the beautiful staircase.

After group shots and making sure we got them some amazing bride and groom photography everyone headed over to the barn for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

The evening went perfect with the cutting of the cake and a first dance followed by the most amazing dance show.

So as we fully expected, Josie & Bruce pulled it off. One amazing day was had by everyone and we would like to thank Josie and Bruce for making us feel so welcome. Big congratulations to you both and we can’t wait to see you both to get your album designed.

HELEN & SIMON, HAZLEWOOD CASTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY.

Hello All.

November saw us shooting at Hazlewood Castle near York. An overcast cold day provided a moody backdrop to one of Yorkshires most romantic wedding venues.

Helen & Simon had an amazing day planned and included an evening surprise for their guests.

We started off our day with Helen for her bridal preps. Her gorgeous dress hung on the mirror was all we needed to start our detailed shots. All bridesmaids were ready for action and did a great job of keeping Helen calm. As well as the bridal preps we also visited the grooms room to also get some boys preps. The dress reveal to the father of the bride was soon to follow which gave some great shots on the antique staircase. A pre-planned holding of hands round a corner proved to be a magical moment. All silent with grinning from ear to ear from both bride and groom.

The ceremony included all of around 20 guests in one of Hazlewood Castles most magical rooms. A reading from their little boy Alfie was perfect too.

After the ceremony we managed a great confetti shot in front of the main building then off for the bride and grooms personal images. Although cold and windy the excitement still grew for the chance to create some great memories for them both.

After speeches and cake cutting it was time to welcome their evening guests for their evening blessing which was to take place in Hazlewood Castles very own adjoined chapel at 19:15.

With over a hundred evening guests having arrived the blessing went with a bang. An amazing vicar gave us the run of the chapel to shoot as we wished, even calling us to the very front to make sure we got the kissing shot.

The rest of the night was perfect and we both would like to wish Helen & Simon all the best for their future and a big thank you for making us feel so welcome all day.

Kim & Matt’s Mosborough Hall, Sheffield, Wedding Photography Blog.

Today was the big day of Kim and Matt. We had been looking forward to shooting there big day as they are such a fun couple. The weather forecast was spot on today as we started the day with rain. We knew the sun was going to make an early afternoon appearance so this kept our spirits high! We arrived at Mosborough Hall first thing to meet with Kim and the bridal party to begin the bridal preps. Mosborough hall is a fabulous venue with so much to offer! With it’s charm and unique qualities it makes the perfect wedding venue choice. Kim and the girls made us really feel welcome as we continued with the bridal preps and we had such a giggle with them. We shortly met with Matt and his groomsmen and got creative indoors due to the wet weather.

The ceremony took place in the Chatsworth building. The building is stunning and is so secluded and private. Kim looked absolutely beautiful and you could almost hear gasps of excitement as she walked down the aisle to her groom. After the ceremony we headed outside to start with the group shots. The rain had stopped and everyone was enjoying the sun, drinks and canapes! We were thrilled to spend time with Kim and Matt creating some fantastic images around the grounds of Mosborough Hall. The guests headed inside to enjoy a three course wedding breakfast followed by the speeches. We were all mesmerized by magician Afro Magic who wowed everyone!

As the evening party started we managed a mini night shoot which we love to do as you can really start getting creative. We had such a fantastic day with Kim, Matt and all there family and friends. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome.

Emily & Kingsleys Wedding Blog. Ryther Church, Yorkshire.

So last Saturday saw us shooting Emily & Kingsley’s wedding at Ryther Church, Yorkshire. The rest of the week had been pretty decent weather wise but the forecast didn’t look too good for the day. Between heavy rain and strong winds were periods of blue sky and sun….very mixed. Taking this into consideration as we first met with Emily at her parents house for the bridal preps it was clear that the weather was just a minor issue and the real focus of the day was her marriage to Kingsley. We’ve known Emily & Kingsley for a few years and know what they mean to each other. A perfect match for a perfect couple.

In the ample garden a beautiful tipi decorated to perfection stood with room for many guests, a bar and of course a dance floor with the biggest disco ball we’ve ever seen. They had gone for a vintage rustic theme which suited them perfectly.

As the morning drew on it was time for Emily to put on her beautiful dress which was hand made by her mum. The perfect style for Emily and we were sure Kingsley was going to be amazed.

As a little {big} surprise Emily’s parents had organised a horse drawn carriage for her to arrive in at the church. Fingers crossed it wasn’t going to rain now as the journey was going to take a good 20 minutes to get there.

We headed off to the church to see Kingsley for the first time that day as was met with a beaming smile and someone who couldn’t wait to see his bride. After a few groom and groomsmen shots we could see the horse and carriage heading down the quaint lane. Finally the ceremony was here and it went perfectly. Guest, family and friends all smiling to see the new happy couple.

It was time to head back to Emily’s parents house for their barbecued tipi wedding breakfast, speeches and an evening for relaxing and catching up with family and friends. A brilliant end to a brilliant day.

We would both like to wish Emily & Kingsley all the best and a big congratulations again. Thank you for looking after us.

Larah & James’ Walled Garden, Nottingham Wedding Photography Blog.

After meeting Larah and James earlier in the summer for an amazing engagement shoot in the Peak District, Derbyshire this was a wedding we were super excited about shooting!

We headed over to Larah’s parents house in Nottingham to begin the day’s bridal preps. We were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome by the bridal party. The house was beautiful and perfect for the bridal preps.

We then made our way to the venue. The Walled Garden, Nottingham. This little gem is such a stunning place and suited Larah and James’s style just perfectly. The ceremony was lovely and our new Mr and Mrs were beaming. We spent plenty of time in the grounds which are completely private and so extensive. A true photographers dream! A little bit of wind and rain didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits.

We were treated to a wonderful show performance by mind reader ‘Looch’ who wowed everyone.

As the evening came in we headed outside for a mini night shoot, captured the first dance and left our bride and groom to party the night away.

Carys & Nick’s Berkswell Wedding Photography Blog.

After an incredible pre wedding shoot which now seemed a life time ago we were so excited about shooting the wedding of Cary’s and Nick. Cary’s and Nick are a wonderful couple who are so friendly and easy going.

We were lucky to be staying near the wedding venue the night before so we could be up bright and early for the day ahead. We made our way to Cary’s parents house for the bridal preps which was also going to be the wedding reception venue. WOW! We were amazed at the stunning family home, gardens and the huge marquee! The sun was shining and we knew we were in for a treat!

We started with bridal preps in the bright conservatory and even managed to take out Cary’s wedding dress outside. The dress was beautiful and hand made by the brides mum!

We then made our way to Berkswell Church for the ceremony. The church was in the perfect countryside setting and so right for our couple and the days theme. We met with our groom Nick and all his groomsmen for a few pre ceremony shots. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat.

After the ceremony we headed outside to begin with the group shots and to also capture some personal shots of the new Mr and Mrs Grayson.

After this we drove the short distance back to the marquee where pimms and fun garden gardens were on offer. Our bride and groom enjoyed a yummy wedding breakfast followed by speeches and plenty of laughter.

We even had plenty of time for a night shoot! What a fantastic day. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and wan’t to thank Cary’s, Nick and all there family and friends for making us feel so welcome.

Ruth & Liam’s Wedding, Wentworth Church / 3 Acres Huddersfield.

Ruth & Liam’s wedding was perfect from start to finish. The beautiful Wentworth Church saw the chilled out couple say their vows in front of their family and friends. Taking time to get some more personal shots of them both in the surrounding church area, the photos were a delight.

After Wentworth church it was off to the 3 Acres, Shelley near Huddersfield for their wedding breakfast and dancing. Sat beside the mast of Emley Moor we ventured out for more evening shots.

Kirsty & Nigel were married at Wortley Hall in Sheffield.

Classic cars, beautiful dresses and long veils we’re the order of the day.

Kirsty looked stunning and smiled from start to finish. Nigel, the most laid back groom took it all in his stride. The beautiful gardens of Wortley Hall provided an amazing backdrop for Kirsty & Nigel’s wedding, a wedding to be remembered forever.

As most of our blog posts seem to start this year, once again this wedding started with rain….and plenty of it.

We had the most beautiful backdrop of Stoke Rochford Hall just outside Grantham in Lincolnshire but was unsure on how much we would get to use it.

As usual we started with the bridal preps where we first met Kirsty and her bridesmaids. Undeterred by the weather the plan was always to have an amazing day with their family and friends.

We first saw Marc and his best man with help from umbrellas getting them into the building. As the rain came we had the perfect opportunity to start shooting in the conservatory or “Orangery” {guests will understand haha} which was also to be the location of their wedding ceremony.

A photographers dream shooting in these conditions with diffused natural lighting in a beautiful listed buildings conservatory.

With about 130 guests seated the ceremony was perfect {except the odd wasp} which followed back into the Great Hall for drinks and congratulations.

As the weather was still pretty dismal we decided to shoot the group shots in the conservatory then the normal plan was to get some great intimate shots of Kirsty & Marc but the rain still fell so we decided to leave these until after the wedding breakfast.

The rain had stopped by this point and we managed to take full advantage of the grounds getting some great shots of them both as you can see below.

The night finished with Marc singing and amazing song with their chosen wedding band and plenty of dancing.

We had such a great day, Kirsty, Marc and their family and friends made us  feel so welcome all day.
